Albert Nürnberger, German, Silver Mounted Violin Bow, c. 1920
The “Albert Nürnberger” workshop was founded around the early 1850’s and continued in a long family line of highly skilled bowmakers mostly using the ‘*Albert Nürnberger*’ name stamp, in homage to Franz Albert Nürnberger, the founder. The stamp has displayed different formats throughout the years, this one in use in the 1920’s. These bows offer consistent playability and represent good investment potential.
Bows from the Albert Nürnberger workshop are highly acclaimed throughout the playing fraternity and have been used by many internationally famous players.
This bow, in the Hill style, comprises an octagonal pernambuco stick with silver mounted ebony frog, the adjuster of ebony, sheathed in silver and capped with a pearl eye. It would suit the dedicated amateur, advanced student or professional player.
